Gravity fed stoneware water filter manufactured by "The Fulham Company" in London. Off-white pottery with blue text that reads: "Leadless Glaze, Cheavin's "Saludor" (Safe Water) Filter, Drinking Water of Absolute Purity, British Made Throughout, W." In the early 1800's the city's water, drawn from the river Thames, was described as: "Offensive to the sight, disgusting to the imagination and destructive to the health." Queen Victoria recognized the public health hazards of London's drinking water and ordered the production of water filters such as this. This ceramic water filter consists of a hand-crafted pottery water container with side handles, internal fittings, lid and brass spigot tap. In very good condition.
Measurements: 20 1/2" High; 8" Diameter.

It's say Leadless Glaze, The Brownlow British Health Filter, ?Londond & Tonbridge, Pure Drinking Water is Life, ?British Throughout?. It?s working with the wather shin included. Has a little chip in one of the handles. Inside has 2 stones original from the filter as you can see in one of the pictures
